2008/09 PRESIDENTS WELCOME

To players and supporters of the Baranduda Rangers Cricket Club, welcome to season 2008/09. This season is going to be an exciting time at the cricket club with the continuation of the improvement of the club both on and off the field. Hopefully we can build on last season’s efforts. The Committee has been working diligently over the off season and with continued support we will attempt to improve Baranduda Cricket Club as a whole entity.

Talks with the Wodonga City Council have been positive and productive with the council providing $70,000 for the sinking of a bore along with the $20,000 grant from the Victorian Government to drought proof our oval for the coming years. We have also begun the process of planning for the construction of change room and pavilion facilities to be built in the coming months.

This season we will continue to see the rewards of hard work at training. Michael Connors our coach will instill a work ethic that will stand us well amongst our cricketing peers. Make sure we all get behind Michael and ensure that his hard work is not wasted.

As previously mentioned in the training schedule selection will be based upon training attendance, ability and form. Starting this season no player will be able to take the field if they are not financial. So start saving now for the beginning of the season. If you are not financial then you will not be covered by insurance. Please see your Treasurer Kerrie Riordan if you are having difficulty or have any questions.

Finally I want everyone to enjoy their cricket and with a strong commitment from all players will see this club become a force to be reckoned with in the coming season.
